GROUP IN PLACE TO PRESERVE OAKS

Five members of the Tamworth community have been selected to help restore the historic English oak trees along King George the Fifth Avenue.

The residents will work alongside council to replace dying trees, to ensure they’re preserved for generations to come.

“This management plan is a 50 year program, it’ll outsee all of the members who are here now and it must be passed onto other people.”

The oak trees were added to the State Heritage Register in 2014.
