A thought provoking art exhibition is on show at the Manning Regional Art Gallery this weekend.
‘The Patient’ aims to get people thinking about what the chronically ill go through.
The curator was inspired to create the exhibition, after noticing a lack of empathy and understanding towards a colleague who was suffering from adrenal failure.
“We find images like this confronting because we perhaps don’t engage very much in conversation about the bodily experience of illness, mortality and approaching death.”
It’s not all doom and gloom, the work also showcasing medical triumphs.
The exhibition runs until July.
