Morpeth’s historic timber bridge will be given a new lease on life, once its $1.7-million upgrade is complete on Monday.
The 119-year-old span is currently closed for major maintenance, including a replacement of its trusses and a repaint.
It’s one of 26 bridges across the state undergoing significant conservation by Roads and Maritime Services.
