ALL SCHOOLS OPEN GOLF CHAMPS SWING INTO TUNCURRY

Day one of the New South Wales All Schools Open Golf Championships teed off at Tuncurry today.

Wingham local, Reid Brown giving last year’s Australian Captain Jordie Garner a run for his money.

Both finishing one stroke behind the leader.

“It’s good playing with Jordie its a bit of competition to trying and stick it up with him and beat him,” said Brown.

Students are playing for selection in the state All Schools side heading to the Pacific Games in Adelaide later this year.

But organisers say it’s not all about getting a spot on the team.

“School golf is all about participation and getting as many students involved and giving them to opportunity to participate,” said Mark Skein.

Play continues at Taree tomorrow.
