SEAGULLS NO MATCH FOR BUTCHER BOYS

In the Newcastle Rugby League today, Central Newcastle was too good for Lakes United.

With both coming off wins in the opening round, it was the Butcher Boys who fired early.

Ethan Cook pushed his way over during Central’s first foray into enemy territory.

After an almost identical play, the skipper was in again.

Lakes responded – fullback Jamie Ghoulmieh finding a gap.

Scrambling defence prevented a hat trick for the Central captain, before a bad bounce led to the Seagulls’ second.

But Jake Maizen took advantage of a defensive error soon after.

In the end, the Butcher Boys got the win.
