AMMO AND FIREARM ACCESSORIES ALLEGEDLY SEIZED DURING VEHICLE STOP

A woman and a teenage boy have been charged after police allegedly found ammunition and firearm accessories in a vehicle stop in the north west.

Police initially responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle on Elsmore Road in Elsmore, 10km east of Inverell, around 8:30 yesterday morning.

The vehicle, an allegedly stolen white Ford Falcon with no registration plates, was stopped on Silvermines Road, and police allege they found a located ammunition, firearm accessories, three chainsaws and a safe during a search of the vehicle.

A 22-year-old woman and a 17-year-old man were charged with a string of offences and appeared in Inverell Bail court today.

They’ll face court again later this week.
