FUNDING BOOST FOR MANNING HEALTH SERVICES
Vital health services in the Hunter and Manning have received a boost, to the tune of almost $2.8-million.
The federal funding aims to improve the treatment of drug and alcohol addictions, as well as Aboriginal mental health.
It will be used to commission services, which are culturally appropriate and tailored to the community’s needs.
“It will certainly work in, particularly closely with the Aboriginal medical services – both Biripai and Tobwabba – so they’ll be key people that can refer into the service,” the Hunter New England and Central Coast Public Health Network’s Leanne Morton said.
