ACTIVISTS DEMAND BETTER REFUGEE HEALTHCARE

Refugee activists have condemned alleged healthcare shortcomings within offshore detention centres on Manus Island and Nauru.

Around 100 gathered at Lennox Head this morning – demanding the Federal Government improve access to basic medical services.

“We need to keep pressure on the government. This is not a two tiered system. We need to give these refugees and asylum seekers the same medical care that we would expect ourselves.”

Organised by ‘Ballina Region for Refugees’ – the rally also promoted settling refugees in regional areas.
