MORE CHARGES LAID OVER ALLEGED HUNTER VALLEY HOLD-UPS

A task force investigating armed robberies in the Hunter has charged a man over alleged hold-ups at an East Maitland pub and a fast food restaurant at Williamtown.

Shortly before midday yesterday, detectives from Strike Force Shirley arrested a 30-year-old man during a vehicle stop on Edinburgh Street in Raymond Terrace.

A 39-year-old male passenger was also arrested on unrelated matters.

The 30-year-old was charged with two counts of robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon, which relate to the separate hold-ups that occured in December last year.

The charges come after an 18-year-old man was charged by Strike Force Shirley detectives earlier this week.
