INFORMATION SOUGHT OVER EAST MAITLAND HOTEL ROBBERY

Police are appealing to the public for information following a spate of armed robberies in the Hunter region.

Detectives attached to Strike Force Shirley have released CCTV images of the people they believe may be able to assist their investigations into an armed robbery at East Maitland last year.

On December 5, three armed men entered the Hunter River Hotel via the backdoor around 10pm, armed with a shotgun, knife and baseball bat.

The intruders threatened staff and patrons, and demanded cash.

The men stole cash, purses, and a red tool box before escaping via the back door, and drove away in a white late-model sedan.

Police would now like to speak to the following people they believe may be able to assist in their inquiries.

The first man is depicted as being of Caucasian appearance, with a thin build, 160-170cm tall, and wearing a blue hooded jumper, and a white cotton face covering.

The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a thin build, 160-170cm tall, and wearing a dark-coloured jumper with a grey hood, and a white cotton face covering.

Anyone who may know those depicted in the images, or who has information relevant to the investigation, is urged to come forward.
