TWO PEOPLE SLASHED HELPING A MAN ALLEGEDLY BEING ROBBED ON THE GOLD COAST

An alleged robber has held a man up at knifepoint, before slashing two others that came to assist on the Gold Coast last night.

Police say that just before 9.30pm, a 23-year-old man allegedly had his personal items stolen by a man brandishing a knife on Cypress Avenue in Surfers Paradise.

Two men chased the robber to Ferny Avenue where an altercation ensued.

The duo recieved non-life-threatening cuts to their hands and arms, before the offender fled the scene.

Police later located the 35-year-old man at a hostel in Pine Avenue at Surfers Paradise.

It’s believed he is assisting police with their inquiries.
