NEWCASTLE TRAINERS TARGET GROUP ONE GLORY IN SYDNEY

Newcastle trainers Paul Perry and Kris Lees will chase Group One glory in Sydney this weekend, on day one of the Championships at Royal Randwick.
Lees has Le Romain and Sense of Occasion in the $3-million Doncaster Mile.
Le Romain drew barrier eight, and is likely to start as favourite.
“He’s in good order, he’s such a consistent horse, he’ll run really well. Now the weight’s gone up a kilo that’s a good leveller now but I’m very pleased with the horse.”
Closer to home, Lees will have Beretta and Clevedon Bay in tomorrow’s last Provincial Championship qualifier at Broadmeadow.
What Could Be is a sentimental favourite, with trainer and part-owner Alan Scorse recovering from cancer treatment.
The top three from the race will qualify for the $390,000 final at Randwick on April 8.
