TWO TO FACE COURT AFTER ALLEGEDLY CRASHING STOLEN SUV

A teenager and a 12-year-old boy will face court after they allegedly stole an SUV and crashed it into another vehicle on the Gold Coast.

Around 7.15am yesterday, police were travelling on the Logan Motorway in Carole Park when they saw a black SUV loose control in the rain.

The vehicle jumped a guard rail and collided with a small station wagon on the opposite side of the motorway.

One of the alleged offenders ran from the SUV into nearby bushland.

After a short pursuit, the offender was apprehended, while another alleged offender was arrested at the scene.

The 12-year-old has been charged with once count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

While the older boy was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property.

Investigations revealed that the SUV had been stolen from a Nerang address on Tuesday.
