A police officer on the scene of a minor traffic accident has been struck by passing vehicle on the Gold Coast.
The officer had left his car and was rendering assistance at the accident on the M1 at Tugun, when the driver of a vehicle lost control and struck the officer at around 11:40am today.
He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with head and internal injuries.
