CANNABIS WORTH AN ESTIMATED $500,000 SEIZED IN THE MID NORTH

Over 200 cannabis plants have been seized in 48 hours by police, after they executed two search warrants on the mid north coast.

Around 11 o’clock on Thursday morning, police executed a search warrant at a property on Dyers Loop Road in Argents Hills, west of Bowraville, where they allegedly located 145 cannabis plants, just over 7kg of cannabis leaf, and a sum of cash.

A 47-year-old man and a 68-year-old man were charged, and will appear in court in April.

A second search warrant was executed at a property on Kings Head Road in Boorganna, north of Taree, just before 11am yesterday.

Police allegedly located a further 59 cannabis plants and over 13kg of cannabis leaf.

Charges are expected to be laid after police spoke to a man at the property.

While the two search warrants were conducted independently of each other and are not related, the drugs have a potential estimated street value of half a million dollars.
