The Australian Rugby Union has confirmed today the University of New England is one of eight sides in the inaugural National University Sevens Series.
Alongside Sydney’s Macquarie Uni, it’s one of just two from New South Wales to make the cut.
Beginning in August, the competition is designed to grow Australia’s talent pool, to keep the Pearls among the leading teams in the world.
