Seven long years after its creation, Casino’s Men’s Shed group finally has a shed of its own.
The $260,000 shed was constructed with the help of local, state and federal funding and hosts woodwork, metalwork and art projects, three days a week.
“This is a place where you should never feel alone. If you feel alone, or a little bit isolated, all you need to do is go to one of those benches and look as if you’re setting up a little project and before you know it you’ll have a dozen people around.”
“You’ve created really, dare I say, the ducks guts of Men’s Sheds in this region.”
The inclusive community group has upwards of 60 members – a fifth of which are female.
Members also host D-I-Y classes at local schools and hardware stores.
