A 20-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving, following a single vehicle crash that claimed the lives of two of his passengers, in the Northern Rivers last year.
The P plater was driving a red Nissan 300ZX with five passengers on September 27 on Mount Lindesay Road, when it left the road and crashed into an embankment.
The driver and two teenage passengers were treated at the scene and taken to Lismore Base Hospital.
Two other passengers, a 17 and 22-year-old man were airlifted to hospitals in Brisbane,where they died three days later.
The driver was yesterday charged with a string of offences including two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving, using an unregistered vehicle, driving a high performance car while on a provisional license and allowing passengers not to wear seatbelts.
He’ll face Kyogle Local Court next month.
