The hunt for a man, wanted for threatening police with a shotgun on the mid north coast, has been scaled down.
David Bell was the subject of a police pursuit and a widespread search of the Newry State Forest near Urunga, after he evaded an RBT at Macksville yesterday.
Police say the 37-year-old, who is wanted in three states, is armed and dangerous.
“the actions that he displayed yesterday aren’t those of someone we don’t deem as dangerous, he’s well known to police here and in other states and the fact he brandished a shotgun at police, yes that makes him dangerous.”
Authorities say Bell should NOT be approached, and anyone who sees him should call triple-zero.
