RESIDENTS SETTLE INTO NEW DISABILITY ACCOMMODATION
Three years after its closure was first announced, Stockton Centre residents have started moving into new accommodation.
It’s part of a shake-up to the provision of disability care in New South Wales… which some families claim will only leave their loved ones worse off.

Very disappointing coverage. The footage of the family who didn’t want the Stockton Centre to close is incredibly old, as was the footage of the staff protesting.
The NDIS issues have nothing to do with the new group home. The simple truth is that the residents who moved out of the Stockton Centre are doing incredibly well – in fact better their new than they ever did at the Stockton Centre. They have more privacy, less people living in their space, more choice in how they live, more staff suppporting them and a brilliant homelike environment.
Actually I thought it was as balanced as it could be, the beginning showed positive aspects of their current living arrangements, and then showed in an unbiased way the concerns held by families and staff. And the footage may be old but the concerns are still the same.
