POLICE CAR INVOLVED IN HIGHWAY CRASH

Two people, including a police officer, were taken to hospital this afternoon following a crash on the Pacific Highway, north of Port Macquarie.

A highway patrol car was turning to pursue a southbound vehicle near Cooperabung, when another car slammed into it.

The officer was taken Port Macquarie Base Hospital suffering minor injuries, while the 72-year-old female passenger of the other vehicle was hospitalised as a precaution.
