WOMEN BURNT IN RICHMOND RIVER BOAT FIRE

Two women suffered burns when their boat caught fire on the Richmond River at Woodburn just after 2pm today.

One was taken to Lismore Base Hospital with superficial burns to her head, while the other was treated for minor burns to her arm.

SES attempted to tow the flaming boat back to the Woodburn wharf, but it sunk en route.

HAZMAT was called in to contain any oil or fuel spill.
