MAN REFUSED BAIL AFTER HIGH SPEED PURSUIT

A Central Coast man has allegedly hit speeds of up to 200km per hour during a police pursuit on the Mid North Coast.

The car was first pursued on the highway at Clybucca, and again at Telegraph Point before road spikes were deployed at Sancrox yesterday.

Police claim the car continued to speed despite having no front tyres.

The 24-year-old driver from Bateau Bay was finally arrested when road spikes were again used at Heron’s Creek.

He was refused bail in Port Macquarie local court today.
