JETS WOMEN TAKE THE VICTORY FROM MELBOURNE

Following their big win over the Melbourne Victory, the Jets women got stuck in the Victorian capital last night, after their flight was cancelled.
It’s unlikely to take the shine off the four-nil demolition.
Keeper Kelsey Wys made an important save early, before fellow American imports Megan Oyster and Arin Gilliland made it two-nil.
Emma Stanbury scored Newcastle’s third, and Jenna Kingsley rubbed salt in the wound in stoppage time.
Coach Craig Deans says the team’s four imports have fitted in well, but he’s equally impressed with the Jets’ home-grown talent.
Newcastle will host Perth at McDonald Jones Stadium on Sunday.
