ACCC HANDS DOWN INTERIM REPORT INTO CATTLE INDUSTRY

The consumer watchdog has handed down an interim report into the country’s beef and cattle industry.
Following a six month study, the A Triple C, has outlined 14 recommendations to improve the industry, including the introduction of a buyers and saleyards register along with the mandatory reporting of all non-saleyard transactions.
“We want to make sure that we have an industry which is vibrant, which is transparent and that the best possible return gets back through the farm gate.”
The interim report is available to download on the A Triple C’s website, with the organisation seeking public feedback until November 23.
