PISTOL USED IN RESTAURANT ROBBERY

A man allegedly used a pistol to rob a restaurant in the Hunter Valley on Wednesday night.

It’s alleged the man used the weapon to threaten a staff member of the restaurant on Lang Street, Kurri Kurri.

He was given a sum of money before fleeing and being driven away by a woman.

Police later arrested a 21-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman in nearby Weston.

Both were charged with armed robbery and will face court today.
