CLOSE CALL ON PACIFIC HIGHWAY

An elderly driver is lucky to be alive, after a collision on the Pacific Highway near Herons Creek this afternoon.

Police say the woman pulled out into oncoming traffic and was hit by another car, causing her to lose control of the sedan.

She veered straight through the opposite lane of traffic and down an embankment.

Miraculously, the driver was uninjured.
