HUNTER ACADEMY OF SPORT UNVEILS NEW EVENT

The Hunter Academy of Sport has unveiled a new event called Sportsfest to encourage people to try something different.
“We’ve aimed it at the young, the youth of the Hunter to try a sport they’ve never tried before but we’re also hoping the young at heart might try something they’ve never done.”
15 sports will be offered at the free event in Speers Point Park on October 9, including lacrosse and baseball.
“Everyone here already plays AFL, rugby, cricket, field sports. What we’ve done is put a stick in their hands and now they do it a bit different.”
“Kids are seeing more baseball on tv, seeing baseball from America so they want to come out and give it a go.”
