In this day and age, it’s very rare to be handed a big wad of cash, but that’s exactly what Lismore City Council received when Japanese sister city exchange students arrived in the town earlier this week.
Yamato Takada City Council have donated almost $8000 towards flood recovery efforts, following an East Coast Low in June.
But council doesn’t plan to hold onto the money.
“I thought the most appropriate place for that money to go would be the SES.”
The money will be used to build a new warehouse at the Lismore City unit.
