NEWCASTLE HUNTERS LOSE RUSSELL HINDER FOR WARATAH LEAGUE FINALS

Newcastle’s men’s team has suffered a major blow with Russell Hinder unable to return from America for the Waratah League finals, because of family commitments.
Hinder was one of the team’s best this season, leading the Hunters in scoring and rebounds on several occasions.
Coach Larry Davidson says it’s disappointing, but he’s confident cousins Steve Davis and Jon Howe will step up to fill the void.
In some good news, veteran Adam Melmeth is expected to overcome a knee injury in time for Newcastle’s opening playoff game on August 13.
