MAN WANTED IN RELATION TO GOLD COAST CAR-JACKING AND SHOOTING

Police are on the hunt for a man believed to be involved in a car-jacking and shooting on the Gold Coast overnight.

At around 7pm, a stolen vehicle crashed on Serpentine Creek Road at Redland Bay.

According to police, when members of the public stopped to assist, the driver produced a rifle and demanded their car keys.

It’s alleged the man then took one of their cars, which was located at 8.30pm in a carpark at Ormeau.

Then, just before midnight, police say a man was shot in the abdomen after approaching a man who was allegedly attempting to break into his car in Gaven.

The man then fled the scene on foot – and a 48-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe the incidents may be linked, and are now attempting to locate 23-year-old Tait Streeter who may be able to assist with inquiries.

Mr Streeter was last seen around 11.30am in Mermaid Waters and is believed to be driving a stolen ‘gunmetal grey’ 2011 Ford Falcon utility with a silver tray and registration 777 TOX.

Anyone who may have seen Tait Streeter is asked not approach him but to contact police immediately.
