TODDLER CRITICAL AFTER BEING RUN OVER

A one-year-old girl is in a critical condition in hospital after being run over by a reversing four-wheel-drive on the driveway of a Gold Coast home.

Taya Parker was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital after the incident in Burleigh Waters yesterday afternoon around 4pm.

Her parents Jayce and Jen Parker spent the night by her side in hospital as her life hangs in the balance.

Police are investigating the incident.

“At this stage we are investigating an infant child (who) has been run over in the driveway at an address on Burleigh Street,” Senior Sergeant Angelique Maloney said.

“The child is in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

“Both parents were home, they are very distraught.”
