Two men have died after their ute rolled off a road north of Newcastle and crashed into a power pole,
causing it to snap on impact.
The driver and his passenger died immediately on Sunday night in Tomago when the vehicle left the road, rolled onto its side and slid 85 metres before hitting the pole, police say.
The victims are yet to be formally identified but officers believe they are local men aged 25 and 28.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
