The Greens candidate in Cowper, Carol Vernon, has been hospitalised and will have surgery tomorrow.
Greens Senator, Lee Rhiannon, says she is concerned and sad for her colleague but is confident she will remain as a candidate in the election contest.
Senator Rhiannon says Carol Vernon’s prognosis is positive and the priority right now is rebuilding her good health.
No indication has been given as to the nature of Ms Vernon’s illness.
