DRIVERS URGED TO MAKE THEIR PLEDGE

If you passed through Coffs Harbour’s city centre on Thursday, you may have noticed something a little out of the ordinary.

The Fatality Free Friday inflatable car was parked at the Growers Market, to raise awareness about road safety.

Residents were invited to sign their names, as a pledge to drive safely.

“I think that it’s really important people become much more conscious of their own safety and the safety of their family and the safety of other people, having lost a husband to a car accident.”
This year, there have been more than 440 people killed on Australian roads, more than a quarter of those in New South Wales.
