Apprentice jockey Samantha Clenton will undergo surgery on a broken collarbone, but has been cleared of a leg fracture, following yesterday’s horror five-horse fall at Taree.
19-year-old Jackson Murphy is expected to remain in John Hunter Hospital for several days, after splitting his spleen.
Two other jockeys involved in the accident have since been discharged from hospital with no serious injuries.
