UPDATED: DRIVER CHARGED AFTER GOLD COAST HIT AND RUN

UPDATE: Police have charged a 33-year-old Broadbeach man with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm after a hit and run on the Gold Coast yesterday.

A 29-year-old man was struck by a car as he was standing beside a parked vehicle on Laycock Street around 5pm yesterday. He was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.

The driver of the offending vehicle will appear in court on May 26.

Gold Coast police are hunting the driver of a black Holden Cruze after a pedestrian was struck by the car – The incident captured on CCTV.

The 29 year old pedestrian – a taxi driver – was standing next to his car when we was hit and thrown into the air, before the car sped off.

He’s now in a stable condition.
