NEWCASTLE JETS RESIGNED TO LOSING MARK BIRIGHITTI

Newcastle Jets officials say they’d love to retain the services of keeper Mark Birighitti, but his manager, former Socceroo Vince Grella, has made it clear the 25-year-old’s future lies overseas.
Despite reports the keeper has rejected an offer from Newcastle, CEO David Eland says the club hasn’t entered into talks for a new deal.
If Birighitti is unable to secure a suitable offer from overseas, the Jets say their door is always open.
