Another political party has joined the election battle for the seat of New England.
The Veterans party has announced it will endorse a candidate and direct preferences to Independent Tony Windsor over Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce.
The party claims the loss of the Defence Force Basic Flight Training School in Tamworth is driving its decision to stand.
A candidate is yet to be named.
