HONDA DRIVER SURVIVES COLLISION WITH SEMI-TRAILER IN PORT MACQUARIE

A female driver has escaped with non-life threatening injuries after her vehicle collided with a semi-trailer at Port Macquarie overnight.

Around 8pm on Friday, emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway near Hastings River Drive, following reports of a crash.

They arrived to find a Honda Jazz had collided with a semi-trailer.

The truck had then crashed through a guard rail on the Fernbank Creek Bridge, and partly came to rest in the creek below.

The driver of the Honda was trapped for a short time, but was able to be freed and taken by ambulance to Port Macquarie Base Hospital.

The male driver of the semi-trailer underwent mandatory blood and urine testing.

Investigations are continuing.
