CALLS FOR NEW ASSISTANT DEFENCE MINISTER TO VISIT WILLIAMTOWN RESIDENTS

There are calls for the new Assistant Defence Minister to meet with residents affected by the Williamtown RAAF base contamination, as soon as possible.

Nationals MP Michael McCormack picked up the portfolio in the latest reshuffle.

He’s the third politician to take on the role in five months.

State Member for Port Stephens, Kate Washington, says the lack of stability is frustrating.

A spokesperson for Mr McCormack says he’s been in contact with his predecessor, Darren Chester, and plans to visit the region in the coming weeks.
