POLICE ARREST KURRI KURRI SERVICE STATION ROBBER IN NEWCASTLE

A 32-year-old man has faced court today after being charged with a robbery in Kurri Kurri earlier this week.

Around 1am on Thursday, the man allegedly entered a service station on Northcote Street, grabbed the female attendant around the neck and demanded cash.

Shortly after, the man fled with cash and cigarettes. The woman was uninjured, and was able to contact police, who launched an investiagation.

CCTV images of the man were released to the public, and following calls to crimestoppers, police were able to arrest the man at Hamilton Railway Station about 1am today.
