The Newcastle Jets and Sydney FC this afternoon agreed to a deal which will see David Carney play for the Sky Blues for the remainder of this A-League season – and the next.
In return, the Jets receive $80,000, which can be used on top of next year’s salary cap.
Carney’s contract saga came to a head last Saturday, when he was told he wouldn’t be part of the side to meet Adelaide.
The Jets cited Carney’s commitment as the reason – claims his management refutes.
