COUNSELLING SERVICES OFFERED IN WAKE OF WILLIAMTOWN CONTAMINATION

Hunter New England Health will begin a counselling service from next week, for people affected by the Williamtown RAAF contamination.

Weekly half-day clinics will begin at Fern Bay Medical Centre next Thursday.

A dedicated phone line has also been established for people to access mental health clinicians for appointments and support.

“The current situation in Williamtown is understandably, very stressful and it’s important that people have access to support if they need it,” said Dr Martin Cohen, Director of Hunter New England Health.

General Practitioners in the area will also be offered additional support.
