BYRON BAY FAMILY FUNDRAISE TO BRING DAUGHTER’S BODY HOME

The northern New South Wales family of a five-year-old girl killed in a motorcycle accident in Thailand, has launched a campaign to bring her body home.

Sonya Davis, from Byron Bay, died in a hospital in Thailand on Friday after a car hit the motorcycle she was travelling on with her Thai grandmother five days earlier.

The grandmother was killed instantly while Ms Davis was left on life support.

An online campaign called “Bring our Sonya Home” has been launched and has since raised more than $15,000 to bring the little girl’s body home.

The site says the family is “utterly devastated” and mother Somepong’s “grief is doubled having lost both her mother and daughter in this tragic accident”.
