A 24-year-old man will face Newcastle Local Court today, after allegedly barricading himself and two other men in a Newcastle motel overnight.
Police arrived at the motel, on Tudor Street in Hamilton, at about 6pm and evacuated the motel as a precaution.
Two men left a motel room shortly afterwards while the accused remained inside.
That man was arrested with police allegedly seizing a .22 calibre sawn-off rifle and ammunition.
The man was charged with firearm and detaining for advantage offences.
