Police have struggled with a man who was armed with a loaded pistol at Lake Macquarie.
Detectives were making inquries with a man at a park at Rathmines when he ran from the scene toward a mobile home parked on the reserve. The officers chased him into the mobile home where he produced the loaded weapon.He was arrested after a short struggle.
Police allegedly located 24 rounds of ammunition.
The 57-year-old was refused bail and will face five charges in Newcastle Local Court on Thursday.
