Union Street in Lismore was closed for several hours this morning, after a truck became wedged under a rail bridge.
It took several attempts to free the badly damaged vehicle – emergency crews had to deflate its tyres to pull it out.
Crates of beer and wine that fell off the truck also had to be cleared away.
Engineers will now assess the bridge’s structural integrity.
