For the past 27 years, the Wishing Tree Appeal has helped hundreds of Aussie families in need, and today the festive tradition continued in Tamworth.
School students from Oxley Vale and Westdale Public Schools donned their santa hats and sang christmas carols to welcome in the festive season.
More than six-million presents have been donated since the event started in 1988 and this year the appeal will aim to collect more than 500,000 gifts nationally.
Anyone wishing to donate should head to any Kmart store.
