Police are searching for a group of men, who destroyed a brand-new four-wheel-drive permit kiosk in Lennox Head overnight.
It’s believed the vandals used an axe to smash the $12,000 machine, which was only installed earlier this week.
“Whether people thought it was about paid parking, we don’t have paid parking in our shire, and at this stage there is no plan, it’s purely accessing the four wheel drive permits.”
Council says it’s now considering 24-hour surveillance for the site.
